Babe
People go, "The pig movie?" And I say "Yeh! - The pig movie." And they kind of laugh and go "yeh.. that was a sweet movie" or "seriously?". And then I have to trot out the pitch perfect acting of "The Farmer" (James Cromwell) or his equally if not better "Wife" (Magda Szubanski) or the spectacular art direction or the most sweet natured, unpretentious, non-ironic, non judgemental "heart in the right place-but-not-at-all-stupid-or-pretentious-or-condescending" script and then finally, though not necessarily the coup de grace fact that hey - it was nominated for 7 freaking Academy Awards! Which is not so shabby for a "kids movie" huh? When you're finished watching this wonderful movie, go rent Babe II - and see why a decent French Farce didn't stand a chance at the box office. — Fred
